Peggy's Sampler

Spider web  and Continental:  Work Spider webs first and fill in with Continental

Fern: Work 1, 2 or more rows then fill in with Scotch

Parisian cross:  Work first and then fill in with Wrapped thread.

Wrapped thread:  To work, make a long loop on the canvas and come up right next to where you went under and wrap, wrap and wrap again around the long thread.  Use a long piece of thread so that you will have enough to wrap.

Note:  Do not worry about getting the curved lines exact.  Just have fun and stitch.

Padded Satin (String) and Continental:  Lay a thick piece of string on the canvas and tack it down (Couching) with sewing thread so that it will not move.  With your lovely thread, come up on the top of the canvas and lay it over the string.  Go back down to the underside and work your way down to the other end of the string.  You will be covering the string padding.  See the picture for more information.  Stitch Continental as close to the covered string as possible.  Do not let the canvas show around the padding.

Breton and Scotch:  Fill in area with Scotch and then work the Breton stitches.  Work loose stitches of Breton.  You may wish to secure the loops with sewing thread that matches the stitches.

Chain and Diagonal Mosaic:  Work Chain in one or more rows as needed.  Fill in with Diagonal Mosaic.

Chain:  https://www.needlepointteacher.com/stitches/c/chain/

Slanted Gobelin and Continental:  same as above.

Continental  https://www.needlepointteacher.com/stitches/c/continental/

Eyelet and Jessica, Encroached Gobelin:  Work the circles in Eyelet.  Outline the circle with Jessica.   The count will be over 2 holes and back 1 hole.  Background will be in Encroached Gobelin.

Areas where the lines are going around a circle or a long line, work in Continental.

I think I have all areas covered.  If not let me know if you need more help and I'll come up with more.
