Sturgeon Trail Stitch

Needs Thinking

Uses:  Fields, Foliage, Clothes

Work the long diagonal stitches (green) first, and follow with the small Continental (green) stitches.  Add the upright crosses last.

The sample shows the small crosses in metallic thread, pearl cotton for the small Continental, and Persian wool for the foundation.  Experiment with different fibers and threads.  The stitch is medium large, but if used with good judgment, it can add a creative touch to mny projects.

Sturgeon Trail tends to show canvas.  A quick application of paint solves this annoyance.  Use greens to achieve a leafy effect.  Use other colors for wall flowers or blankets.
