Cross Tied Gobelin Stitch

AKA:  Crossed Gobelin

          Cross Straight

Needs Thinking

Uses:  Stripes, Fields, Samplers, Borders

For a stitch that is made up of such long threads, Cross Tied Gobelin is quite hard-wearing.  The boldness of the stitch, however, makes it a good choice for samplers.  The crosses add a demensional effect, leading the eye horizontally.  Two colors help to show the stitches.  If you do not want the white canvas to show, first paint the area to match the thread.

To create, first work the long parallel lines (green) and then insert the crosses. (blue)
